RE: best phil lynott/thin lizzy tracks
HEY,
What about Derby Blues. Has anyone listened to the Derby '75 CD out at the moment, great to hear Lizzy Live and uncut. Great to hear how a song progresses Derby Blues to The Cowboy Song and what about The Jam session on Track 15. A newish album a new debate. |

RE: best phil lynott/thin lizzy tracks
Still Dangerous,
I am sure loads of people have bought this Rip Off CD of only 10 tracks. Some time ago I recieved a version with the original 16 tracks and have to say sounds 99% perfect. Its live, sure there are a few problems with sound but nothing to write home about. In the version I have, Philip explains about the first few tracks about each song title, its meaning and what album they came from in that strong Dublin accent of his. I think for the pure Lizzy fan they would be more interested in listening to Phils voice capturing the moment, recalling those days of yester-year. Seems to me the "New" Lizzy want to escape from Philip but unfortunately for them, if it was not for Mr. P. Lynott there would have been no Thin Lizzy as who else could have kept it together for more than a decade. I hope Scott, when he routes through the treasure throve of music he will reproduce a live concert with maybe enhancing the music quality but leaving all the introductions and chatting to the audience intact. Unfortunately for the likes of myself and many others I am sure this shall be the closest we shall ever get to Philip and enjoying his legacy over and over. Still Dangerous, 5/10 I am disappointed with the reduction in tracks and shuffling of said tracks. LizzyFan!

From Phil second solo album....or even Can't Get Away? So many great and brilliant songs it is hard to just pick 5. How about almost everything the man wrote....there ya go. |
